HARM REDUCTION SERVICES

Our goal is simple: To help people in our Long Island community stay healthy and informed by recognizing the connection between substance use and sexual health. We’re here to reduce the risks of overdose and health-related complications through education, support, and access to practical resources. Our team meets people where they are with care, respect, and the tools to stay safer, always with compassion and without judgment.

Services

Our services are completely free and confidential. No insurance or ID is required. We connect with individuals regardless of immigration status and all veterans regardless of their discharge status.

We provide the following services at all three THRIVE locations (Westbury, Hauppauge, Riverhead) and through our mobile testing unit:

• Testing for HIV, hepatitis C (HCV), syphilis, gonorrhea, and chlamydia.
• Linkage to treatment and prevention services, including PrEP/PEP
• Safer sex kits (condoms, lube, dental dams)
• Free Narcan Training and two Free Narcan Kits (4mg each)
• Overdose prevention kits: fentanyl, xylazine drug test strips, and drug info cards

community outreach

• Educational community-based workshops focused on health and harm reduction
• Established partnerships with treatment and recovery centers across long island where staff guides participants on strategies to promote wellness and long-term recovery

ELIGIBILITY

Anyone 18 or older who’s interested and/or at risk—especially folks who are sexually active, use substances, or just want to stay informed and healthy.
